This mixed medium work was inspired, in part, by my painting on this website, titled: Rose In The Shadow. I've loved clothes lines from childhood. Growing up in Southern California I would observe my mother, grandmother, and other relatives hanging clothes on outdoor lines. Thus, I decided to create my own small clothes line in this work. I also believe that joining an array of mediums in creations can result in new, maybe unusual, works. Such mixed materials can often result in more mystery than standard answers. Collaged, colored, newspaper clippings, overlaid with cheesecloth seem to convey a more surrealistic outcome. The selected title: Beside The Still Waters, is a potential symbolic metaphor for Gods leading in my life, sometimes emersed in a lack of answers. As Psalm 23 proclaims, He leads us beside the still waters.
